What is Advanced SEO?

Advanced SEO goes beyond the usual links and content. It involves switching from traditional search engine optimisation practices, like buying links, in favour of ethical results-driven techniques.

Marketers spend about a third of their time on unnecessary tasks like looking at analytics and preparing reports. Advanced SEO is faster, more effective and longer lasting. We used to call in future SEO, because staying on top of change is vital.

The table below shows just how devastating AI was to organic search. 0.6% click through rate is the new normal. If you aren't in a tech niche you may not have seen this at the time and some still haven't realised.

Rule Number 1: stop prioritising organic search. It is a directory now. People use it to ask for a branded name i.e. they got their answer from AI and now just want to find the website. Hence branded search doing so well. It's main function at the moment is to fuel AI. Also to prop up AI Mode.

Let's break Advanced SEO down:

On-page optimisation that actually moves the needle: topical authority over many pages is the hype these days. But toomany suggest going for every aspect of a topic. Unnecessary. Be the expert, that's all. One solid page can beat 10 generic pages that have been written before. Use the right words, keep it scannable and prove your are the authority by typing in an appropriate tone.
Call to action in a clear way. Test different attributes. Make it clear immediately what you offer. Make the offer compelling. This can take weeks or many months. An advanced SEO knows when to hold off.
Advanced AI SEO with common sense. Often called GEO, it is basically AI Search. Chunking, tables, charts, and FAQs are sold for "visibility" and citations. If you did #1 right you are the expert. You don't need citations you need recommendations. Nobody clicks citations (the clicks are almost as low as Google organic results). You need to be recommendable. Most GEO talk is fluff. If you are optimising for citations, you are optimising to support someone else. Advanced AI SEO starts a page both AI friendly and coversion optimisation friendly.
Link building. Link earning is the way. Sales pages don't get many links, so the first thing is to make a decision. That usually means linking to the homepage as it is the one most natural links point to on other sites. But internal links to informational pieces are good too. Internal linking is the cement that holds your site together and can make the foundations stronger. Find your most powerful pages and either boost more or boost other from them with internal links.
